Study Abroad in Japan

Summer I: June 8 to July 10.
Beginning Conversation Japanese I (JAPN 1311)
2 weeks Japan field trip & 3 weeks at SAC
Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Tokyo
This course offers truly a meaningful experience to explore Japan and learn its history and culture first hands. You will be able to learn the Japanese language efficiently and quickly.  This course is specially arranged to take a field trip to Japan!
Cost:
SAC tuition and fees for 3 hours credits plus travel agency $3,989 (under 23,) $4,40 4 (age23+) plus application fee $95 to travel agency.
Don’t forget to do both! You will pay to SAC for 3 hours credits and pay for trip to travel agency
What is included for Travel agency: (round –trip flights, bullet train, bus, 12 overnight stays in hotels, breakfast and dinner daily, 3 sightseeing tours, full-time tour director)
 
Final Enrollment is March 15 (according to the availability of air tickets) please ask Prof. Kawabe for information.

Day 2 (June 23) Osaka
Day 3 (June 24)Kyoto  (Nijo castle, Golden Pavilion,  and Heian Shrine)
Day 4 (June 25)Nara • Kyoto (Todaiji temple) Free time in Kyoto
Day 5 (June 26) Hiroshima (the Peace Memorial Park/ museum)
Day 6 (June 27)< /SPAN>Iwakuni • Fukuoka  (Kintaikyou Bridge)
Day 7 (June 28)Mount Aso • Fukuoka (Mt. Aso cable-car transport)
Day 8 (June 29)Dazaifu • Nagasaki (Peace park and the Atomic bomb Musium)
Day 9 (June 30)Nagasaki
Day 10 (June 31) Fukuoka Transfer to Fukuoka
Days 11-14 (June 1 to 4) Tokyo (Miji Shito Shurine, harajuku, Asakusa)
 
Week 5: July 6 to 10 in Class at SAC.

ADA statement: Since old temples in Japan are not accessible for students who cannot climb stairs, those students cannot be accommodated by this program in Japan.  San Antonio College offers other sections where a student may earn Japanese language credit, and these sections are taught on the SAC campus which is handicapped-accessible.
