Japan Connection - A Resource Network

Japan America Society of San Antonio makes connections with those in the community requesting Japanese cultural services with service providers. Requests may include interpreters; cultural presentations, performances and exhibits; educational resources; Japanese craftsmen and artists. One month lead time is recommended in order for service provider to respond to your requests. Processing requests with less than one month lead will be considered a case-by-case.

(All fees received will be accepted as tax-deductible donations to JASSA. JASSA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Any amount you contribute will help JASSA’s fundraising efforts.)

Providers: Service Providers (including translators/interpreters) that are current members of JASSA pay no fee to be in the network of providers. A donation of 10% or more of any fees/compensation received as a result of the referral is suggested.

Non-member providers and associated fees will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Consumer: All current members in all categories will incur on fees (dues must be currently paid).

• Corporate: $185 fee to access the provider network year-round, unlimited requests OR $40 referral fee for translation/interpretation services. *
• Non-profit: $75 fee to access the provider network year-round, unlimited requests OR $30 referral fee for translator/interpretation services. *
• Individual/family: $40 fee to access the provider network year-round, unlimited requests OR $25 referral fee for translator/interpretation services. *
• Senior/Student: $20 fee to access the provider network year-round, unlimited requests OR $15 referral fee for translator/interpretation services. *

* Per referral, to be paid only if provider provides actual service. Per hour charges or other service fees may still apply if required by professionals and/or according the skill necessary. Referral fee may be waived if translator/interpreter will donate 10% of fees received from the consumer to JASSA. Subsequent requests will be at a lower referral fee. Paid year-round access to the provider network waives the first referral fee, but charges from the provider may still apply. Please contact connections@jas-sa.org for more information.

Note to JASSA Providers: For JASSA members, there is no fee to join this network and your time providing a presentation, demonstration or service is on an unpaid volunteer basis to help promote Japanese culture, education and/or networking. Charging a service fee for the consumer (party requesting the service) is optional, but in consideration of the referral, a tax-deductible donation of 10% of any payments received is requested. This agreement remains valid as long as I am a current member or until I send a written notification to be removed from the network.
