Texas Folklife Festival
Institute of Texan Cultures
HemisFair Park
The Texas Folklife Festival is the biggest cultural celebration in Texas! More than 40 different cultural groups in Texas are represented at the festival, and each year, more than 250 participants come together to celebrate their culture and heritage.
Located on the grounds of the Institute of Texan Cultures on the UTSA HemisFair Park Campus, the annual three-day event showcases the Lone Star State's diversity and rich heritage through a wide variety of ethnic food, music, dance, arts, and crafts.
Folklife is one of the most enjoyable and important events for JASSA. A lot of volunteers have helped every year, and it made us so successful. We will need your help this year to make our participation another success. Here is a request from 1st Vice President, Norio Seki for Folklife Festival 2011:
Dear JASSA members and friends:
It's already May! and "Yes!" Folklife Festival for 2011 is coming up. JASSA is participating in the festival as a food vendor again this year. We would like to have volunteers to help us during the festival and before the festival begins. Our menu items remain the same as last year's.
Non-JASSA members are very welcome too. Please talk to your family and friends.
(Once you are admitted to the festival, as a volunteer, your wristband is good for all 3 days.)
Here are the volunteer hours;
Please let me know either, by email (srvtex@sbcglobal.net) or calling (210-355-0203), by June 3, Friday if you are able to help us.
Please make sure to include your physical mailing address so that I can mail the wrist bands for you.
